The Embassy of India in Manila will be hosting a technology summit in March with the aim of strengthening collaboration between India and the Philippines in the digital realm.

Scheduled for March 5 in Taguig City, the first ever India-Philippines Tech Summit will feature presentations from over 57 Indian tech companies showcasing their digital products and solutions in areas such as fintech, agritech, and healthtech.

Indian Ambassador to Manila Shambhu Kumaran expressed that the event signifies the start of a structured dialogue between the two countries on digital technology. He highlighted the potential for economic growth in the Philippines and the interest of Indian companies in exploring opportunities in the country.

With over 30 Indian tech firms already investing in the Philippines and providing employment to between 150,000 and 200,000 Filipinos, the summit aims to deepen the understanding of the digital transformation happening in India’s economy.

The summit will also focus on innovations in agriculture and healthcare, aligning with the priorities of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration. Indian companies will showcase solutions for enhancing agricultural productivity through satellite data and biotechnology, as well as offering low-cost medicines and diagnostic technologies to support universal healthcare initiatives in the Philippines.
