The Pokémon Company has finally released the highly anticipated Eevee backpack, based on the popular character Penny’s satchel from the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet games. The backpack, designed to resemble the normal-type fox Pokémon, has been in high demand among fans since the games’ release last year.

The Eevee backpack is part of the “Paldea Pokémon Trainers” merchandise line, which features various items inspired by characters from the games. This includes replica items like the electric-type gym leader Iono’s hair bow and Elite Four member Rika’s gloves. The entire collection will be available in Japan starting September 16.

The Eevee backpack, priced at ¥6,930 (approximately $47 USD), will be exclusive to Japan for now, with no official word on a Western release. Fans outside of Japan can potentially import the backpack through third-party sellers. It is recommended to keep an eye on the Pokémon Center website for any updates regarding international availability.

While fans express excitement over the Eevee backpack, some expressed disappointment that the line does not include merchandise featuring Professor Turo, a beloved character from the games. They hope for future releases that acknowledge the existence of this character, even offering to purchase a Turo plush or other merchandise.

In addition to the Eevee backpack launch, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are set to release two-part downloadable content (DLC). The first part, titled “The Teal Mask,” is scheduled for release on September 13, with the second part, “The Indigo Disk,” expected to come out in 2023.

Pokémon enthusiasts eagerly await any announcements regarding the availability of the Eevee backpack and hope for the expansion of the merchandise line to include more characters from the games.
