A data breach at healthcare tech firm HealthEC LLC has impacted 4.5 million patients. The breach occurred between July 14 and 23, 2023 and resulted in unauthorized access to the company’s systems. The stolen files included sensitive information such as names, addresses, Social Security numbers, medical records, and health insurance information. HealthEC has advised individuals to remain vigilant against identity theft and fraud and to promptly report any suspicious activity. The breach has affected 17 healthcare service providers and state-level health systems.
