ESET has fixed a high-severity bug in the Secure Traffic Scanning Feature of several products. The vulnerability (CVE-2023-5594, CVSS score 7.5) could have been exploited to make web browsers trust sites that should not be trusted. The flaw resided in the SSL/TLS protocol scanning feature implemented in ESET products. ESET released security patches for the affected products and addressed the issue with the release of the Internet protection module 1464, which is being distributed via automatic product updates. The security firm is not aware of any attacks in the wild that exploited this flaw. The affected products include various ESET antivirus and security solutions for Windows and Linux, as well as server security products.
