German law enforcement authorities have successfully seized the largest German-speaking cybercrime marketplace, Crimemarket, and arrested one of its operators. The Düsseldorf Police revealed that an extensive international operation led to the takedown of this notorious platform.

The investigation, led by the North Rhine-Westphalia Cybercrime Central and Contact Office, has been ongoing for years, gathering evidence on crimes related to Crimemarket. The marketplace was known for selling narcotics, criminal services, and even detailed instructions on serious crimes. In addition to the operators, authorities are targeting providers and users associated with the platform.

During the operation, which involved multiple searches, six individuals were arrested, including an alleged operator. The police confiscated various electronic devices, narcotics, and nearly 600,000 euros in cash and assets. Crimemarket had over 180,000 registered users and was accessible through both the Darknet and Clearnet.

The investigation is still ongoing, with authorities working to identify and prosecute more individuals involved in criminal activities through this platform.
