Therma Visayas Inc. (TVI), which oversees the Toledo City power plant of AboitizPower, recently launched “Project T3”, a skills training program in partnership with TESDA to address unemployment in TVI’s host communities.

The program provides technical vocational training in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Pipefitting, and Bread and Pastry Production for residents of TVI’s impact communities in Toledo City. TVI also sponsored assessment fees for NC-II certifications to ensure comprehensive training and support for participants.

TVI Facility Head, Noel Cabahug, emphasized the need for a skilled workforce in Toledo City and highlighted the program’s aim to increase hiring potential in the area.

Toledo City Mayor Marjorie “Joie” Perales commended the initiative and its contribution to the local economy, expressing gratitude to TVI, Aboitiz Foundation, TESDA, and CTU for their collaboration.

The “T3” initiative, in collaboration with Aboitiz Foundation, TESDA, and Cebu Technological University (CTU), aims to provide quality technical training and workshops for 100 beneficiaries in its launch phase. The program focuses on practical training and industry relevance to ensure gainful employment for participants.

Engr. Redjie Arcadio, CTU Campus Director, highlighted the demand for the skills being taught in the program and the goal of ensuring gainful permanent employment for participants.

TVI’s Cabahug expressed high hopes for “Project T3” and emphasized its potential to promote sustainability and increase living standards and economic growth in Toledo City.
