A recent survey conducted in key swing states in the US has revealed that the majority of registered voters are dissatisfied with the current financial system and show a notable interest in cryptocurrency. The study, conducted by the Blockchain Association and Harris Poll, surveyed over 1,200 registered voters in states including Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Montana, Pennsylvania, and Arizona.

The survey found that 80% of respondents believe the current financial system favors elites over regular people, and 79% think it lacks transparency. Only 38% of participants felt that the financial system was designed for people like them, and just 26% considered it fair for all. However, despite their dissatisfaction with the system, many respondents expressed positive feelings about their own financial health.

Interest in cryptocurrency was particularly strong among the surveyed voters. While only 14% currently own cryptocurrency, 31% expressed positive feelings towards it, associating it with traits like innovation and accessibility. The report identified a group of “Crypto-Positive” voters who see digital assets as a path to financial security and prosperity.

The survey also revealed political implications, with 40% of respondents wishing political candidates would discuss digital currency more. Additionally, almost half of voters expressed distrust towards candidates who interfere with cryptocurrency, and 30% said they would be more likely to support a candidate who is friendly towards digital assets.

The report emphasized the potential electoral advantages for candidates who understand cryptocurrency, noting that discussing the topic in an informed way could help them stand out. It also highlighted the need for sensible regulation, with a majority of respondents supporting an overhaul of crypto regulation and calling for government protections for consumers and investors.

Overall, the survey underscores changing attitudes towards both the traditional financial system and emerging digital currencies among voters in key swing states. This presents both opportunities and challenges for political candidates in the upcoming elections.
