The United States Senate successfully passed a bipartisan bill just before the midnight deadline, preventing a government shutdown. The bill, with a vote of 88 to 9, provides funding for the government until November 17.

President Joe Biden announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he has signed the bill into law. In a statement, Biden applauded the majorities in both the House and Senate for averting an unnecessary crisis.

All Democratic senators voted in favor of the bill, while the opposing votes came from Republicans. The bill was initially passed by the House with bipartisan support.

Notably, the bill does not include funding for Ukraine, a provision sought by Democrats but opposed by many Republicans. However, it does include funding for disaster relief.

A government shutdown could have impacted the progress of crypto bills awaiting a vote, potentially affecting the future of cryptocurrency regulation. Several crypto-focused bills have bipartisan support and are likely to pass in floor votes.
