In a bid to support the growth of the BitTorrent ecosystem, BTFS has announced plans to halve the rewards for storage miners on its network starting June 25, 2024. Currently, the decentralized file storage system boasts over 8 million nodes, with more than 6 million super miners actively participating. Since its launch in 2019, BTFS has provided a total of 25 trillion BTT in rewards to miners.

The halving of rewards every two years aims to incentivize miners to enhance node performance and efficiency. Alongside this, BTFS is set to upgrade its official website for the technical community and release the BTFS v3.0 Mainnet to improve protocol efficiency and expand the user base.

Looking forward, BTFS is committed to refining its storage rewards strategies to attract more nodes for file storage and provide developers with secure and reliable storage solutions. This move is expected to boost the capacity and transaction efficiency of the BTTC network.
