Manila, Philippines — Petron Corp. has announced a reduction in the price of its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) product after three consecutive months of price increases earlier this year.

Effective April 1 at 12 noon, Petron slashed its LPG price by P1 per kilogram (kg) or a total of P11 per 11-kg cylinder. The company stated that this adjustment reflects the international contract price of LPG for the month of April.

It is expected that other industry players will follow suit and make similar announcements.

This price cut comes after a 30-centavo per kg increase in March. The largest price hike of P3.40 per kg for the year was implemented in January.
