More than 3,400 free Wi-Fi sites have been reconnected nationwide in the Philippines, providing services to nearly 2.6 million users from May to July, according to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

The reconnected sites cover 71 provinces, including Metro Manila, and 396 localities. The DICT’s Free Public Internet Access Program aims to provide 10,816 free Wi-Fi sites nationwide by the end of 2023.

The program started in 2018 and has been working towards providing free internet connectivity to all 84 provinces in the country.
