  • BNB Chain developers have publicly launched opBNB’s mainnet after successfully processing over 35 million on-chain transactions and deploying more than 150 dapps on the testnet. opBNB is the layer 2 (L2) of the BNB Smart Chain, compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and built on the Optimism OP Stack. It aims to alleviate congestion, reduce transaction costs (with an average gas fee of $0.005), and revolutionize blockchain technology by making it accessible to all.
  • Blockchain analytics firm Nansen has released an updated version of its platform, powered by AI. The new version aims to enhance accessibility to blockchain insights and facilitate well-informed decision-making through user-friendly navigation. It also addresses security concerns in the crypto space by identifying suspicious trades and monitoring wallet-to-wallet transfers. Nansen 2 has already attracted 200,000 users who signed up for Early Access in less than 24 hours, eagerly waiting for the official launch.

  • Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse revealed that the company plans to do 80% of its hiring outside the US this year in countries that offer more regulatory clarity. Garlinghouse expressed frustration with the regulatory situation in the US and highlighted how other countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, the UK, and Dubai are partnering with the industry and providing clear rules, leading to growth.

Wallet News

  • Telegram and TON Foundation have jointly announced TON Space, a new self-custodial crypto wallet. Developed by The Open Platform (TOP), which includes TOP Labs, TON Space will be available to Telegram’s global users from November onwards, without the need for wallet registration. However, certain jurisdictions, including the USA, will not initially have access to this feature.
  • Opera has unveiled MiniPay, a non-custodial stablecoin wallet integrated into its mobile web browser. This wallet, built on the Celo blockchain, aims to onboard millions of mobile users across Africa to Web3. The initial launch will take place in Nigeria, providing dollar savings, fast transactions, and low fees.

Investment News

  • Investment giant WisdomTree has reported over $1.3 billion of net inflows in August 2023. This was driven by robust flows into fixed income and all equity strategies, resulting in year-to-date net inflows exceeding $10 billion and generating a 19% annualized pace of organic growth. The equity strategies, both US and non-US, have seen a combined 15.5% year-to-date annualized organic growth, including 29% annualized organic growth in non-US equity strategies.
