MPT South Management Corp., a unit of Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC), is aiming to acquire the remaining right-of-way (ROW) needed to complete the construction of the entire 44.57-kilometer Cavite-Laguna Expressway (Calax) by the third quarter of next year.
Raul Ignacio, president of MPT South, mentioned that they are working towards securing the balance of ROW soon to ensure the completion of the tollway. The ROW completion for Calax subsection 1 is over 76 percent, while subsection 2 is at 71 percent. Subsection 1 includes the Kawit and Open Canal interchanges, and subsection 2 links Open Canal to Governor’s Drive.
Subsection 3, which connects Governor’s Drive and Silang (Aguinaldo) interchanges, is nearly complete. Calax serves as a toll road connecting Cavitex and South Luzon Expressway, with the Laguna segment already operational. MPT South has allocated P11.95 billion for capital expenditures to finish Calax and the 7.7-km Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex) C-5 Link by 2025.
The Cavitex C-5 Link, designed to connect motorists from Makati and Taguig to Parañaque, Las Piñas, and Cavite, consists of operational segments like Segment 3A-1 and Segment 3A-2. Segment 3B, linking Cavitex in Paranaque to C5 Road Taguig, is currently under construction.
Moreover, MPTC has collaborated with San Miguel Corp. to develop the 88-km Cavite-Batangas Expressway and Nasugbu-Bauan Expressway. These toll roads will pass through various areas in Cavite and link motorists to Nasugbu and Bauan, Batangas.
Additionally, MPTC’s portfolio includes North Luzon Expressway (NLEx), NLEx Connector, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, and Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway.
