A Philippine real estate company, PH1 World Developers Inc., is set to launch the first of five mid-rise condominium towers in Cavite province by the first quarter of 2026. The project aims to address the housing gap in the country through public housing initiatives.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the housing project took place in Imus City earlier this week. According to Eric Gregor Tan, PH1’s general manager for horizontal development, the second tower is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2026. The commercial tower, part of the 1,100-unit project, is scheduled to open by 2028.

Tan highlighted the importance of collaborations between the public and private sectors, especially in addressing the housing needs of underserved communities. He believes that the residential development will benefit both locals in Imus City and potential residents from Southern Tagalog and Metro Manila.

The housing project is part of the national government’s Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino housing program, which aims to address the country’s housing backlog of 6.5 million units. Under PH1’s contract with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), the company will oversee the development process as the project owner.

Megawide Construction Corp., the parent company of PH1, will handle the construction once permits and clearances are secured. Last year, Megawide acquired PH1 from Citicore Holdings Investment Inc. in a P5.2-billion deal.

In addition to the Cavite project, PH1 recently formed a joint venture with builder ProFriends to develop a 380-unit private residential high-rise within Lancaster New City in Imus City. This project is expected to be completed in 2026.
