Keisha Lance Bottoms, who is set to become a senior campaign adviser for Joe Biden, recently spoke out about the bipartisan nature of the cryptocurrency industry. In an interview with The Hill on June 27, Bottoms highlighted how crypto has garnered support from both sides of the political spectrum and has captured the interest of voters across the United States.

She emphasized that cryptocurrency and blockchain technology are reshaping the financial system and are empowering Black-owned businesses in Atlanta. Bottoms also addressed the issue of financial inclusion, noting the disparities faced by communities of color who are often unbanked or underbanked.

Bottoms called for fair regulation within the crypto industry during her appearance at Crypto Votes Atlanta, an event hosted by Stand With Crypto on June 26. She stressed the importance of creating regulations that are fair, equitable, and accessible to all communities while keeping bad actors out of the industry.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported on Bottoms’ involvement in the crypto space, noting her role on Coinbase’s Global Advisory Council since April. She plans to continue in this role while also working with the Biden campaign.

Bottoms’ upcoming position as a senior adviser to Joe Biden follows her previous roles in the Biden administration, including serving as Director of the Office of Public Engagement and as the President’s Senior Adviser. She was also the mayor of Atlanta from 2018 to 2022.
