Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has shown support for Vivek Ramaswamy, the youngest candidate in the Republican presidential field. Musk expressed his approval of Ramaswamy’s potential as a promising candidate in response to a snippet of his interview on Tucker Carlson’s Tucker on Twitter podcast.
Ramaswamy has been actively advocating for a stronger crypto environment in the United States and recently announced that his campaign would accept Bitcoin contributions. At the Bitcoin 2023 conference in Miami, Ramaswamy unveiled a QR code for donations and rewarded donors within the contribution limit with an exclusive non-fungible token. Ramaswamy joins Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as a U.S. presidential contender embracing cryptocurrency contributions.
However, Ramaswamy faces legal challenges as he is involved in two lawsuits filed by former employees of a company he co-founded. Despite these hurdles, he has gained popularity and connected with fellow Republican Ron DeSantis, the Bitcoin-friendly Governor of Florida. DeSantis, in his presidential bid announcement, expressed his support for protecting the ability to use Bitcoin. Both DeSantis and Kennedy have shown strong support for cryptocurrencies, with DeSantis being the second favorite candidate to Trump in pre-announcement polls.
